Why did we choose this hotel? You Know me well, infinity pools are my weakness. When I first saw the pictures of the Beach Club, I immediately knew, I wanna stay at this hotel.
The Hotel situated in the bustling seafront city Sliema, just a few minutes walk from the center and the port as well. Restaurants, bars, shops, and the ferry are just a quick walk on the promenade.
Valletta and St. Julian are in the neighborhood, which makes Sliema the perfect base.
The Hotel has its own Beach Club. This is open from mid-May till mid-October and is situated just 200 meters away from the hotel, on the water’s edge. I was looking for some beach clubs around the island, and in my opinion, the 1926 Beach Club is one of the best. The unique semicircle infinity pool with the sunbeds in the water reminded me of the Burj al Arab, which is one of its kind.
The beach club is busy during the summer months, so if You want to take the perfect photo, you have to be there for the opening.
Another great option is to have a sunset dinner at the Beach Club's restaurant when it is a lot quieter and less crowded.
The beach bar is not overpriced, and the selection of food and drinks is very good.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The staff did all the precautions because of COVID. Everything was sanitized multiple times during the day, placed hand sanitizer to the doors, and kept a social distance.
As for breakfast, we could choose from cold cuts, hot dishes, salads, fruits, pastries, and glutenfree and diet options as well.
For those who like to do some sport during the trip, the gym was open 24 hours. It is not big, but enough to do some cardio and exercise.
Overall I think the hotel absolutely worth the price. With free beach access and good breakfast, it's one of the best deals in Sliema!
